LOVE








A four-letter word
Often misinterpreted and misunderstood
One-syllabic word
Sad to see it scarce in the neighborhood


Considered as the greatest virtue
Yet it could be fake rather than true
It goes beyond words of mouth
Neither is it restricted to the south



I thought it was about the looks
The curves, edges and physique
I thought it was limited to what I read in books
But it’s more than sound of music
 

I thought it was limited to temporary emotion
I thought it was just in mere words
I thought it was centered on attraction
I thought it was only about what I saw on boards


Until I learnt it’s true meaning
Indeed, it was revealing
I had to change my wrong notion
And launch forth in the right direction


Love is patient
Love is kind
Love is forgiving
Love is sacrificial


Love is not self-seeking
Love is not proud or rude
Love is not easily angered
Love does not envy


Love takes no pleasure in evil
Love always speaks the truth
Love always hopes
Love always perseveres


Love trusts
Love cares
Love shares
Love helps

Everyone needs it!


Everyone deserves it!!
