DO I LOOK GOOD?
How do I look?
Do I look good?
Are my clothes properly pressed and set?
Do I have the desired color combination?
Is my foundation balanced?
Are my eye brows well shaped?
Is my tie well knot?
Is my hair well combed, brushed or packed?
These are some of the thoughts that run through our minds when we appear before a mirror usually when heading out for a meeting, class or event.
Virtually everyone is guilty of this or should I say has asked related questions in times past.
Everyone cared/cares about how they looked/look for several reasons. For some, they always want to please 'him' or 'her'. For some, it is just the sense of perfection that drives us. For some, it is to 'impress' their fellows or friends while for others, it is to get attention and show a sort of 'class', level or hierarchy. Our reasons or motives behind not just wearing clothes but looking good may differ and appear more than what has been mentioned above. That's not my point of interest here. All these reasons notwithstanding, I never people ask:
Do I have a good heart?
Do I speak well?
Do I relate well?
Is there something of great value I'm lacking?
Is my 'inner me' as beautiful as the outer?
Can my attitude and character attract others to the right path?
Only if we can have a mirror that examines the 'inner you and I' like the physical one does! But we don't. This mirror can only be you awaking to the consciousness of something as important as this. As much as we try to look good on the external, let's replicate the same on the internal.
I'll prefer we make the internal of better priority.
