QUIT WASTEFULNESS, START GIVING (Vol. 1)
THE UNNECESSARY CRAVE
FOR ‘LATEST’ THINGS.
I’m sure some people cannot wait for iPhone 8 to be released
to get their hands on it and sing the song of using the ‘latest’ gadget. For
other people, it could be cars, clothes, wristwatches among others.
Unfortunately, Nigeria happens to produce less than 10% of these things but we
are quick in consuming a whole lot of them.
Nevertheless, I’ll like to show you a practical way on how to possibly balance things, quit wastefulness and become a giver. Most times, people complain they don’t give because they don’t have but taking a look at this scenario reveals that people simply don’t have what to give because of their wastefulness.
I’ll like to sight this example of two different people under the same situation. From this example, I’ll like us learn a way to handle our sharp taste for ‘latest’ things and save some money which you can use to touch lives positively by helping those in need.
Davies wanted to purchase a ‘latest’ gadget that cost about 1.5million. He told his friend, Adams about this gadget and his friend welcomed the idea of purchasing the gadget as well. This was because he felt it was going to be useful and of great help to him. While Davies was concerned about flaunting this gadget, Adams sat back to think properly.
He was able to come up with a decision after noticing the trend of things with regards to issues like this. He was able to recall that prices of such products will be very high or even highest when they are initially released but with time, there is reduction in price. He decided to exercise some patience till when he’ll be able to purchase the same product at a reduced price. His patience paid off at the end as he ended up buying the gadget at about 1million Naira.
Adams was able to save for himself 500,000 Naira. Now, it’s
been two months ago and both of them have exactly the same gadget. No one cares
about who got his first now. Adams was able to give 300,000 Naira worth of food
items to orphanage homes in his community. He channeled the remaining 200,000
Naira (as investments) into his business.
The above story is a clear distinction between wisdom and
foolishness / resourcefulness and wastefulness! Like they say “Givers never
lack”, “God loves a cheerful giver”. Adams is no doubt on his way to ‘lacking
nothing’ and of course, more blessings from God.
Adams was able to touch lives and affect lives positively. This makes Davies obviously inexcusable from answering the call to impact lives positively by giving!
Sit back and ask yourself the following questions:

Sit back and ask yourself the following questions:
·
The path
of foolishness or the path of wisdom?
·
The path
of blessings or that of stagnancy?
QUIT WASTEFULNESS AND START GIVING!!!
