QUIT WASTEFULNESS, START GIVING! (Vol. 3)
‘I’LL
RATHER BUILD ORPHANAGE HOMES THAN BUY MANSIONS’
Living in a mansion(s) happens to be
the dream of some very ambitious people. Having an opportunity to see such a
dream being fulfilled and forfeiting it to build a comfortable bungalow or
duplex while you spend the rest of the money to build orphanage home(s), is
what some people regard as ‘foolishness’.
Why would someone in his ‘right senses’ choose to deprive himself of such ‘good life’, ‘comfort’ & ‘fame’?
Why would someone in his ‘right senses’ choose to deprive himself of such ‘good life’, ‘comfort’ & ‘fame’?
I’m sure you were almost welcoming the thought of it being
foolish but before you conclude, go a step further in finishing this article. In this article,
we’ll be considering a typical case of a situation which is very much related
to this subject matter.
HERE COMES THE SHORT STORY:
It all began 15years ago. Chief Raymond was no doubt a rich and successful man in the entire city. He bought several cars and a mansion for himself after making it big with an oil firm. He had to travel quite some distance to work and pass routes that had homeless children and beggars begging for food, clothing and shelter.
He always turned deaf ears and closed his eyes towards them or welcoming ideas of rendering help. Meanwhile, he had what it took to build very small apartments for them. His enviable mansion had several rooms out of which his wife and himself occupied the largest while their only child had one to himself; barely 20% of the entire rooms were used but he wanted it that way for the 'fame' & 'recognition'.
These homeless children grew up having 'the streets' and being exposed to social vices. 15 years later, these same group of children became armed robbers and Chief Raymond paid dearly for it!"
Well, that's just a story of what can transpire but beyond the story, come to think of it; A mansion has several rooms in which over 60% of them will be left unused. After all, a man can only sleep on one bed in one room at a time. So
why let rooms waste away when there are fellow human beings laying out there in
the cold? I suggest that if you cannot afford to bring them under your roof, then lend a helping hand by creating another 'roof' for them.
Remember: "Giving to the poor, needy and less privileged is lending to God" and trust me on this 'You'll be handsomely rewarded' because "God pays much better than you can imagine"
I’m not saying you should become poor or live bad lives
because others are in need. Be rational here. If it would cost me 400million
naira to buy a mansion and the same amount can build me a very beautiful house
of 50million naira, then when waste a whooping sum of 350million naira when I
can affect lives positively with it? You may not have that huge amount right now but here's what I need you to do so that you don't feel exempted here.....Develop the good mindset towards making positive impact either with the little or much you have. Be a giver! Be a helper! Start with the 'little' you have.
The goal and mindset here is simple! As much as you want to live and enjoy comfortable lives, do away with wastefulness. Be resourceful and help-minded. Seek to affect the lives of the poor, needy and less privileged positively!
Put a smile on the faces of others. Make not just any difference but a positive and remarkable one! You may not have the funds to build orphanage homes but support the ones we have around with even that little extra you have!

Now, tell me, Which is reasonable?
A comfortable home + Orphanage home OR 'empty mansions'?
Quit wastefulness & start giving!
