A MESSAGE TO A DISCOURAGED HEART (Volume 1)
It's not a crime or a sin to be discouraged, disappointed or dismayed in life. Virtually everyone has felt that way before at certain points in life. It's definitely not a good feeling because it is one that leads nowhere positive.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in the world for what driving is an unheard privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; cheer up and think of the man who has been out of work for years
Should you lose hope over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it is like to love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car breakdown, leaving you miles away from assistance; think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; think of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you feel discouraged about your grades; think about those who don't have the privilege to attain academic height. Wake up, get up and begin to do the right things. Success awaits you!
Should you find yourself disappointed at having only a pair of shoes; think of those with none. Use that pair wisely. Sooner or later, you'll be given one or purchase one.
Should you be dismayed because you lack a pair of shoes, remember those without legs to wear the shoes. Get busy with something productive. You just might end up as a shoe shop owner!
Should you feel secluded and lonely; remember you're not alone. God's got your back.
Should you be at that point when it seems like your efforts to secure a job or university admission is futile; Don't give up! Exercise little perseverance while contributing to improve on yourself. It's coming on the way.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking "what is my purpose? ". Be Thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.
Choose to be joyful. Choose not to give your discouragement enough food, time and strength to grow. Choose to be encouraged!
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD box. SFGTD? Yes! Something For God To Do Box. He will get to it in His Time. All situations will be resolved, but in His time, not yours. His Time is the best! Once you've place the matter into this box, do not hold on to it by worrying about it. Instead, maintain a joyful spirit as you focus on all the wonderful things that are present in your life now. Count your blessings!
Be grateful for life because 'as long as there's life, there's hope'!
