FRIENDSHIP SCANDALS (Vol. 2)

I hope you enjoyed Volume one? Volume two promises to be better. Let's continue on our path to achieving better friendship qualities.

HE STABBED ME IN THE BACK!

Tola and I were very good friends. We did virtually everything together. We talked about our interests in female friends among others. I never wanted to trust anyone but he appeared to be trustworthy. You would think the reason for his backstabbing was based on 'female grounds' but this was different. Just when I felt I could trust him, he struck!

We were both creative and ambitious people. I was much more creative but he was much more of a marketable person. I'm shy when it comes to relating with people especially convincing them to do something. Tola had the better ability here.

We both decided to start the production and sale of something but what was it going to be? we rubbed minds together and finally decided to do something trending; using locally made fabric popularly known as Ankara to make purses, foot wears and bags for people on Campus (for the start). We agreed to share the same amount of capital which we did. I watched YouTube videos on this craft and finally got started. The end product was very good and beautiful.

Our customer base was growing but little did I know that Tola was gradually keeping half of the money while we still shared the remaining half equally. He was cheating me but I didn't know. We were soon running out of money to fund the business. I decided to cut a lot of my excesses to see that the business thrives. Now, I was a major contributor with 60% and Tola 40%.

My 60% input was the last cash I had on me. Tola screwed things up! He did big time! After I had produced the last set of products for customers, Tola made the deliveries and went away with the money. It was a huge sum!  He took everything! I was left with nothing.

That very day I was expecting to see him at our usual spot but he failed to turn up. I tried his phone lines but he failed to pick them up. It was unusual. I decided to pay him a visit the next day only to discover that he had sold his bed space four days ago and had moved off campus with leaving a trace. It was a painful experience for me.

I knew his movements very well and waited for him on his usual route to his lecture room. Yes! We met but Tola blatantly denied ever meeting me. I looked like a fool I'm public. It was humiliating.

It was sad how 'Greed and selfishness' could tear two good years of friendship apart. I've moved on. I know I'll bounce back better than I was. Now, I'm making steps to do the marketing myself.

SELFLESSNESS

Friends are selfless, always watching out for each other. Once selflessness is missing in Friendship, then it won't take time before such friendship goes down the drain. If you cannot be selfless, keep away from friendship. Be concerned with seeing your friend(s) happy. Friends make sacrifices for each other and it should be reciprocated. Are you a friend of someone or several people? Are you selfless? Please, Choose to be selfless.
The opposite of selflessness is selfishness! Selfish and greedy people always pay for their wrong doings at the end of it all.

Be selfless! Be considerate! Be a good friend!
